The Rockaway Rugby Club is a competitive, yet social rugby club that plays Division II rugby in New York City. We take pride in playing good solid rugby while enjoying the sport we love to play, on and off the field. We are a long standing member of the Met. NY Rugby Football Union and USA Rugby.
We are located at the southeastern tip of Queens, New York City, in Rockaway, NY. Our pitch is located 23 miles from New York City, in Fort Tilden, NY on the Rockaway Peninsula along the Atlantic Ocean.
Our players travel from all 5 Boroughs of NYC including Manhattan, Bronx, Staten Island, Brooklyn and Queens to play for a club that has a long history of rugby excellence.
Recently, in 2011, the club represented the Northeast RFU after winning both the Div. 3 Met. NY Rugby Union and Div. 3 Northeast Championship. The Fisheads traveled to the USA National Championship and represented the Northeast Rugby Union as the #1 seed.
Rockaway Rugby Club will continue the winning tradition as we play in our 39th year of rugby.
